The Wasaga Sweater (junior) is a fitted, light raglan sweater, worked from the top down. This sweater has a folded neckline, striped sleeves and ribbing hems with i-cord finishing. Since the sweater is worked top down, it can be tried on along the way, allowing you to customize the sleeve and body length.

The great thing about this sweater is that it is worked with thin merino yarn, making it soft and easy to wear under jackets. It is not intended to be bulky. The stripes also are a great opportunity to use up any extra yarn you have in your stash!

YARN & MEASUREMENTS

Sizes: 1 (2) 4 (6) 8 (10) 12 years

Chest circumference: 59.5 (62) 68.5 (74.5) 79.5 (85) 90 cm

Sleeve length: 20.5 (23.5) 27.5 (29.5) 32.5 (33.5) 35.5 cm (measured from underarm incl. hem)

Sweater length: 32 (34) 36 (40) 43 (47) 50 cm (measured mid-back from under neckband incl. hem)

Needles: 2.5 mm circular needles (40 & 60 cm) + 3 mm circular needles (40 & 60 cm) (or DPNs in both sizes if not using Magic Loop Method for the neck and sleeves)

Yarn:

Merino No 4 by Oenling (organic merino) – 50 g = 200 m or Luxury Soft Merino by Kaos Yarn (organic merino) – 50 g = 225 m

Yarn amount:

Merino main color: 100 (150) 200 (200) 250 (250) 300 g

Merino stripes: 50 g for each stripe color (note: if you choose to knit stripes in just one color, one ball is enough for all stripes, as 2 stripes with one color uses a max. of 10 g)

Gauge: 28 stitches x 40 rows with 3 mm in stockinette washed = 10 x 10 cm
